NETL’s Regional Workforce Initiative (RWFI) will host a webinar briefing of the 2022 U.S. Energy and Employment Report (USEER) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, to present key employment data for energy and advanced manufacturing jobs.

“Energy jobs are on the rise,” said Anthony Armaly, NETL RWFI federal coordinator. “In 2021, the energy sector employed more than 7.8 million Americans. Webinar participants will learn what types of jobs are available and where they are located during our USEER webinar briefing.”

Armaly explained that the webinar would present the results of the 2022 USEER, which highlights the current state of the energy and advanced manufacturing workforce for the tri-state (Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia) and the broader Appalachian region as well as emerging national trends and national energy jobs data.

“Registration is free,” Armaly said. “However, there is a participation limit, and we reach capacity each year, so we encourage everyone to register as soon as possible.”

The USEER was first published in 2016 by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and the 2022 report represents the seventh installment of the series. The purpose of the USEER series is to provide a comprehensive overview of the energy labor market, informing policymakers and stakeholders on the importance of the energy sector as a job creation engine in the U.S. economy.

The NETL RWFI is a platform for engagement and collaboration with stakeholders who are critical for the deployment of energy and advanced manufacturing technological research investments and breakthroughs stemming from DOE and NETL. The initiative catalyzes these investments into economic development and workforce and job opportunities for the region and the nation. To date, NETL RWFI has engaged with nearly 700 regional and national individual stakeholders from 377 institutions and organizations across academic, industry, governmental and non-governmental organizations.
