NETL's STEM professionals bring exciting hands-on, minds-on programs to regional at-risk elementary, middle, and high school classrooms surrounding the Pittsburgh, PA; Albany, OR; and Morgantown, WV, sites.
Are you interested in the NETL K-12 STEM Education and Outreach Team providing your classroom with STEM demonstrations, experiments, and activities? Would you like a scientist/engineer to speak to the students at your school about their career path and education? Please complete and submit the following request form by clicking on the badge.
These stimulating, hands-on, minds-on STEM activities and demonstrations supplement and enhance schools’ existing STEM curricula, cultivate children’s thinking skills, and develop early positive attitudes about STEM topics.
At the upper middle and high school levels, when students further develop their interest in STEM and start thinking about careers, NETL researchers visit the classroom to discuss and demonstrate more complex STEM and energy topics and the multiple pathways that can lead to STEM careers.
NETL participates in career fairs and expos to share information about what it’s like to work as a scientist, engineer, or researcher, and to share internship opportunities with students.
