Host NETL’s mobile laboratory for performance testing at a point source capture test site

NETL has developed a mobile laboratory for performance testing at point source capture test sites. This mobile lab enables standardized, high-precision measurements of amine capture media degradation. This information is needed to develop affordable, reliable point source capture technologies, unleash American energy innovation, advance and restore American prosperity and rebuild the nation’s economic and national security.

The mobile laboratory is equipped with Proton Transfer Reaction Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (PTR-TOF-MS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), and Gas Chromatography-Nitrogen Chemiluminescence Detector (GC-NCD), providing real-time, high-resolution solvent stability data. Additionally, isokinetic manual sampling equipment is integrated to support detailed offline analysis of condensed exhaust gas samples.

NETL is seeking partners interested in hosting the mobile laboratory at point source CO2 capture test sites. Interested parties should express their interest no later than Monday, November 3, 2025, by emailing partnerships@netl.doe.gov.
