National Laboratory Collaboration Network

The Carbon Storage Program fosters collaboration between the the National Energy Technology Laboratory's (NETL) Research and Innovation Center (RIC), and other United States (U.S.) Department of Energy (DOE) laboratories through targeted Field Work Proposals (FWPs) and support FWPs and informal collaborations such as the Science-informed Machine Learning to Accelerate Real-Time (SMART) Initiative and the National Risk Assessment Partnership (NRAP). This coordination provides DOE researchers and program managers the ability to look across similar activities, quickly fill critical gaps in research, and archive results in a collaborative database, all of which will promote efficient transfer of knowledge for future researchers. Efforts span all of the key technologies, working to support a range of technical needs within the Carbon Storage Program to help meet its goal to develop, field test, and facilitate the integration of carbon storage technologies.
