Details

Needs exist for new, autonomous, wellbore integrity monitoring technology. Elevated temperature, high pressure, and harsh environmental conditions of subsurface environments relevant to carbon storage and geothermal wellbore applications combined with needs for successful telemetry with devices embedded kilometers below the surface place severe technological constraints on sensor instrumentation. To achieve the SubTER goals of a ubiquitously monitored wellbore, a suite of complementary sensing technologies will be required for an integrated wellbore integrity health monitoring system.
