The objective of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to seek proposals that achieve significant advancements across the hydrocarbon supply chain (from extraction to processing, transport, and end-use) by focusing on specific, measurable outcomes: increasing natural gas utilization through technologies that capture and convert previously flared or vented gas, thereby recapturing valuable resources and reducing waste; reducing economic losses via innovative capture and re-use solutions; enhancing equipment performance and longevity in midstream and downstream operations; and decreasing operational costs through automation, predictive maintenance, and optimized resource management.
These efforts aim to reduce wasted natural gas, improve infrastructure efficiency and reliability, accelerate the adoption of advanced digital technologies including but not limited to data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). Collectively, these outcomes will reinforce the United States’ (U.S.) position as a global leader in energy technology and responsible hydrocarbon resource management, ensuring a stable, affordable, and secure American energy future while prioritizing domestic innovation and job creation.
