Fire in the Ice is a newsletter published by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory. It provides timely articles and announcements on recent developments in the world of methane hydrate R&D. It is intended for an international audience of research scientists, engineers, and policy makers. Created in 2001, it has become a popular place to publish field program results, research news, funding opportunities, upcoming meetings, and other events of interest to the methane hydrate R&D community. Its contributors and readers represent more than 20 countries.
