Based on a three-party CRADA with ExxonMobil Research & Engineering, NETL, and NREL, the ExxonMobil-NETL-NREL Carbon Storage Research Collaboration Meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss a joint proposal for collaborative work for carbon storage. This meeting follows two other subsurface-related meetings with ExxonMobil and NREL that were focused on unconventional oil and gas recovery:

  • a collaboration kickoff meeting, hosted at NETL-PGH and MGN in September; and
  • a meeting at ExxonMobil’s Clinton campus in October.

This January meeting, which will be attended by approximately 15 visitors from ExxonMobil and NREL, will run Tuesday, January 21, through Wednesday, January 22, 2020, and will focus on carbon storage and related activities, such as combined carbon storage and geothermal. The two-day event will be held at NETL-PGH and will include presentations, general discussions, lunch, lab tours, and wrap-up discussions. For those at NETL-ALB and MGN, VTC will be incorporated on both days. A WebEx and phone line will be provided for those participating remotely.

The registration fee will provide continental breakfast and a buffet lunch on the 21st and continental breakfast on the 22nd.

Refunds cannot be honored after Tuesday, January 14, 2020

Federal NETL employees must pay by personal credit card if they wish to partake in the group breakfast/lunch.
