Carbon Capture Retrofit Studies

NETL maintains Carbon Capture Retrofit Database (CCRD) tools to calculate the cost and performance of carbon capture retrofits of existing pulverized coal (PC) and natural gas combined cycle (NGCC) electricity generating units (EGU), as well as a variety of industrial point source facilities. Each CCRD is associated with a corresponding technical report serving as the basis for the calculation methodology found in the tool, as well as a User Guide. For the PC and NGCC CCRDs, users must enter the required data for a particular EGU, up to and including all domestic EGUs of interest. For the Industrial CCRD, the tool is pre-populated based on data from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP).

The retrofit reports and CCRDs are periodically updated by NETL as new carbon capture technology cost and performance data becomes available. Current and historical versions may be found below.
