Figure 2:  Graphic of Thermal Perturbation Monitoring. The electrical heat trace
applies a constant heat along the wellbore and the distributed temperature sensor measures the
transient heat and uses the measured temperature variations to assess the formation thermal
properties, fluid saturation, and advective flux in the wellbore.
