Morgantown, W.Va. — The National Energy Technology (NETL) has won a National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC) Blue Pencil and Gold Screen Award of Excellence in the Technical or Statistical Report category for their work on the 2008 NETL Accomplishments Report. This is the second award NETL has won for their annual accomplishments reports.
NAGC called the 2008 report beautiful and very professional, and noted its outstanding writing, editing, design, and effectiveness in accomplishing its intended purpose. The NETL Office of Communications was specifically cited for doing a “great job incorporating visual elements throughout the report.” The report received high marks in all categories.
The report contains descriptions of projects and research that NETL participated in, either solo or with partner companies, laboratories, or universities; accolades received; and information on patents awarded—as well as longer features on major accomplishments. The publication not only demonstrates NETL’s achievements and capabilities, it also supports NETL programs and activities, congratulates and encourages NETL personnel, and educates readers.
The honor was awarded at the NAGC Blue Pencil and Gold Screen Awards Reception and Banquet on Monday, May 17,2010, in Bethesda, Md., during the 2010 NAGC Communications School. Dave Anna, Director of NETL’s Office of Communications, accepted the award for NETL.
NAGC hosts the international awards program annually to recognize superior government communications products and the outstanding work of the federal, state, and local government communicators who produce them.
